The Black Lantern restaurant is the finest a la carte restaurant in the Jinja area. It’s a culinary experience not to be missed whether you are staying with us, just visiting Jinja for the day or fancy a good night out.

Enjoy a pre-meal drink or sundowner relaxing on the porch and enjoy the stunning yet serene surroundings overlooking the magnificent Nile River.

Known for our legendary pork spare ribs, the Black Lantern has quickly become a favourite destination for those who enjoy a little indulgence. Our menu offers something for everyone-from meat to fish and vegetarian dishes.

Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, our chefs and waiters will ensure a friendly and fulfilling dining experience.

We are open from 7.30 am until last orders at 9.30 pm seven days a week with the exception of Christmas Day and New Year’s day where a set menu is available for lunchtime day visitors. The a la carte menu, however, will be available to our overnight guests on these days.

We can accommodate 50 seated guests and we suggest you make bookings for groups larger than 10.

We are famous for our ribs and challenge you to finish our full rack of Ribs! Large bookings are welcome, with buffet options available for private functions
