Top notch guide - don't underestimate the importance of this!
We had the good fortune to have Carlos Olaaka, as our guide for 5 days in the Kibale Forest and Queen Elizabeth. He was outstanding! His driving was excellent – much appreciated in sometimes tricky driving conditions. His knowledge was vast & impressive – of the animals, the culture, the history, and the plants – we learned so much! Combine that with his enormous passion for this incredibly beautiful part of the world and his determination that we see everything that interested us and we had the perfect guide! He was professional, ever sensitive to our needs and interests, and… we always seemed to be the vehicle angled in the perfect spot for pictures! We felt sad when it was time to say goodbye. One of the best guides, I suspect. Asante Sana Carlos.
We were conveniently picked up from our hotel and driven to the Kampala first, with the guide telling us about the local area. It was quite a short stop at the craft market but worth seeing as it was very colorful. Then we went to Murchison Falls national park, the 4-day safari which was perfectly arranged. The safari is quite busy but it is very worth it. Thank you Steady Safaris Limited for all the great work you did for us.
